Delivering AmbITion

Events: Spring Training Programme 1 – 3; Names and Faces; Webcast Seminar Series; Digital 2012

A busy event programme delivered in partnership with leading experts is an integral part of the AmbITion Scotland agenda, and this year the sector-wide appetite for training on all things digital remained as strong as ever.

The Spring Training Programme consisted of three events: ‘The Big Guys: Making the Most of Google and Facebook’, ‘That’s Rich! Using Rich Media Tools’, and ‘Get Smart: Free Tools for Operational Effectiveness’, repeated due to popular demand.

June saw the launch of Names and Faces, a regular drinks evening for networking across the community, alternating between venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh. We also continued our Webcast Seminar Series, with opportunities for attendance in-person or online participation. Seminars this year included an in-depth case study of National Theatre Scotland’s live online production of Five Minute Theatre; Getting to Grips with the Basics of Copyright and IP; and New Tools for Fundraising.

The AmbITion year finished in style with the delivery of the Digital 2012 conference at Glasgow’s SECC on 30 March 2012. Now in its second year, the event was produced in conjunction with Interactive Scotland. With over 380 delegates from the cultural, digital and technology sectors in attendance, the success of Digital 2012 was an affirmation of the appetite for digital development within the cultural sector, and a prime example of the fostering of shared skills, confidence and partnerships that are vital to the sector’s growth.
